Prithvi Foundation has been working with farmers since its inception, by training and assisting them in the adoption of organic farming skills and rainwater harvesting. The organization has constructed many farm ponds (rainwater harvesting ponds) and imparted training to farmers on organic agriculture. This learning has been beneficial for farmers and brings them together to carry out common interest activities that enhance sustainability in food production, take care of the environment, and earn some income for them.
Composting, kitchen gardening, and rainwater harvesting (farm pond) are principle practices that are very important in organic agriculture production.
We provide training and subsequent implementation of these practices and facilitate the achievement of our overall goal which is to build the community’s capacity to secure their own food, nutrition, and income security at the household level.
