To celebrate and appreciate academic achievements, certificates, prizes were distributed among the students who scored good percentage in 10th and 12th standards at Garhwal Sabha Bhavan, Jaipur. As academic is not the only criteria of talent, to encourage the budding talent in the field of creativity drawing, painting and essay writing competition for the underprivileged children, was organized. Certificates and prizes were also distributed.
We celebrate the spirit of independence with the drawing, painting, and essay Writing Competition, organized by Prithvi Foundation.This competition aims to foster a sense of patriotism and inspire participants to express their love for our great nation through their artistic and literary skills. Let their creativity shine and resonate their words with the spirit of freedom.
A vibrant cultural program was also organized on the eve of Independence Day in coordination with Rajasthan Vishwakarma Nirman Majdoor Sangh, Jaipur, and the groups or individuals with the best performances were awarded with a certificate and gifts from the Prithvi Foundation.
As we all know women are a important part of our society and they have potential in them but sometimes they are taught otherwise specially in the rural parts of our country due to the past beliefs people have inherited. On the occasion of International Women’s Day a public workshop was organized by Prithvi Foundation for the local women of Mehlan to remind the worth and potential they hold in them. In that workshop women were made aware about their hygiene, public rights and how being independent in all aspects of life is necessary for them in today’s world.
Three batches of 20 women each (60 females in total) were trained with latest equipments and tailoring machines making them aware of the latest trends in the fashion and tailoring industry. By the end of the training period trainees were efficient and equipped enough to use a tailoring machine used in boutiques and other big industries. This training helped them in generating income source either by working at home or they could look for a job as well if they want. They didn’t just started stitching for themselves they started taking orders from others as well. This whole training has also improved their confidence and self esteem. At the end they were provided with basic stitching kit and a certificate.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, an awareness program were conducted by the foundation by having meetings and workshops with local people and making them aware of the benefits of environment protection and hazards of environmental imbalance. On this occasion people were made aware of sustainable development and ways to protect environment and resources.
Free eye and health checkup camp was organized by the foundation at Mehlan. In this camp besides having routine health checkup of the local people necessary free medicines were also provided to them. In this multipurpose camp eye test were also conducted and people were also provided necessary consultation
It is easy to learn something new every time for a woman as creativity is one of their strengths but due to so many old belief systems and a society where they have been raised, it is hard for them to come out and be independent. But on the occasion of festival of rakshabandhan women and girls of Mehlan, didn’t just learned how to make rakhi but they earned money out of it which was a big achievement for them as this craft exhibition was their way of showing their families their caliber and coming out of their houses and selling their own product in their own locality gave them a new sense of confidence, which is lacked by a lot of women in rural India.
On the auspicious day of Independence, Blood donation camp was organized at Garhwal Sabha Bhawan. Acknowledging that how our brave soldiers have shed their blood to get this freedom for us and how important in the present situation is it important for a family to have blood for their loved ones in the case of medical emergencies. Spreading the awareness among the youth about blood donation and collecting successfully 110 units of blood.
